Writing Workshops for Students
Beginning in the Fall of 2008, I have become affiliated with The Story Window, an acclaimed elementary school writing program developed by Texas Performer and Educator Chris Espinosa. This week-long workshop has lead to consistent improvements in student writing scores on standardized tests (and, even better, kids love it).
School Publications
If your school does not have a student-produced newspaper, literary magazine or yearbook, I can help you start one. If your students are already publishing, I can help them get better with one-on-one coaching and/or group seminars. I can also help teachers set up publication sources for their writing assignments. (Studies have shown that arranging for student work to be published enhances the effectiveness of any writing assignment.) Please contact me for information.
Media Literacy In Your School
I can help your students become responsible, active consumers of media. We can do this through workshops or by incorporating “media” lessons into your curriculum in any subject and any grade level. Click here for more on media literacy. Then contact me to set up a program at your school.
