Sin Brings Only Regret

Today’s reading: Corinthians 15: 51-58

It occurs to me that regret is a good synonym for sin. It is also “death’s sting.” (Verse 55-56)

If God brings my final breath today, my last thoughts will  likely be of regret. I am certain I will feel disappointment over all the great work that my weaknesses have kept me from doing in His name.  In other words, it will be my sins, not my life, that will flash before me.

Meanwhile, my life is what is flashing before me right now.

I must remember that, with each non-final breath God gives me, I have great opportunity to seize that life mid-flash — and mold it as The Potter teaches. So long as I remain true to this glorious art, death will come with no regrets, and I will avoid its evil sting.

Thanks be to God for eternal life. May I (and we) always remember eternity includes today.
